Drapery Life: why we started and where we're headed

Buying custom curtains shouldn't feel like a chore. This is the story of how we got started, what we offer today in South Florida, and what we're preparing for the coming months.

Bright living room with earth-toned Ripple Fold curtains framing a large window

For years, buying custom curtains worked pretty much the same way: an appointment, a heavy sample book, a quote that arrived days later, and the feeling of deciding blind. Drapery Life started with a simple question: what if all of that could be seen, understood, and decided on calmly from home, without losing the professional finish of a custom-made curtain?

Behind the brand is the experience of Prestige Window Treatments in South Florida, where we have been making and installing curtains for homes in Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade. We know the craft. What we wanted to change was how people get to it.

One style, done very well

We chose to start with one system: the Ripple Fold, a continuous, even wave that looks just as neat open as it does closed. It's the pleat used in hotels and design firms because it doesn't warp, glides smoothly along its track, and makes any window look taller and cleaner.

Focusing on one style lets us care for every detail, including the fall of the fabric, the spacing between pleats, and the track, instead of offering a hundred half-finished options.

Three levels of light

  • Sheer: filters and softens light while keeping your view.
  • Light Filtering: privacy with natural light.
  • Blackout: true darkness for sleeping or watching movies.

At your own pace

  • See your price instantly as you choose.
  • Professional installation or do-it-yourself.
  • Schedule a technical visit if you'd rather have us measure for you.
We want choosing a curtain to feel like selecting a design piece, not filling out a form.

What you can do today

On our website, you can check whether your ZIP code is within our service area, browse fabrics, configure each window with its measurements, and see the updated price in real time. If anything is unclear, you can schedule a technical visit, and a professional will come to your home to measure and advise you before anything is made.

We have also opened the Atelier, a space for inspiration where you can explore your style at your own pace: rooms, textures, and combinations that help you picture the result before you buy.

What's coming

We are in the middle of our launch phase, and we'll be honest about it: we're still building, refining, and learning from every customer. Over the next few months, you'll see:

  • New services for caring for and maintaining your curtains after installation.
  • More visual tools to try fabrics in real spaces before you decide.
  • Smart assistance: an AI system that helps you choose and answers your questions at any hour, always backed by real people.

All of this rests on a technology foundation that we're building with the same care we put into a fabric. We'll share more in upcoming Journal articles.
