Custom Product Policy

All Drapery Life drapes are manufactured to your exact specifications. Please read this policy before ordering.

Important: All Drapery Life drapes are custom-manufactured to your specifications. Because each drape is made to order, we do not accept returns or exchanges unless the product arrives damaged or has a manufacturing defect. Please measure carefully before ordering.

1. Made-to-Order Products

All products sold through Drapery Life are custom-manufactured ("made-to-order") based on the exact specifications you provide at the time of order, including:

  • Fabric class (Sheer, Translucid, or Blackout)
  • Width (in inches)
  • Height (in inches)
  • Mount type (wall, ceiling, free space, or recessed)
  • Panel opening direction (left, right, or center)

Because manufacturing begins immediately after payment confirmation, made-to-order products cannot be returned or exchanged for any reason other than those specified in Section 3 of this policy.

2. No Returns or Exchanges Due to Measurement Error

Drapery Life cannot accept returns or issue refunds for drapes that do not fit due to measurement errors made by the customer. It is the customer's sole responsibility to:

  • Measure windows correctly using the provided Measuring Guide
  • Enter measurements accurately in the configurator
  • Verify all configuration settings (mount type, opening direction) before checkout

If you are unsure about how to measure, we strongly recommend booking an Expert Visit ($49.99, an independent service) prior to ordering.

3. Defects and Damage

We will replace or remedy any drape that:

  • Arrives visibly damaged due to shipping or handling
  • Has a manufacturing defect (e.g., incorrect fabric, incorrect dimensions when measured from our production records)
  • Is materially different from the specifications confirmed in your order

To file a defect or damage claim:

  1. Contact Drapery Life Support within 48 hours of delivery
  2. Include your order number and photos of the damage or defect
  3. Include photos of the outer packaging (for shipping damage claims)

Claims submitted more than 48 hours after delivery may not be honored. Drapery Life will review each claim and respond within 3–5 business days.

4. Order Cancellation

Order cancellations are only possible within 48 hours of payment confirmation, and only if manufacturing has not yet started. To request a cancellation, contact Support immediately with your order number.

If manufacturing has begun, cancellation is not possible and no refund will be issued. See our Shipping & Cancellation Policy for full details.

5. Expert Visit Fee

The Expert Visit fee may be credited toward a qualifying order only when the applicable promotion or configuration is active. The visit fee is not refundable as cash.
